Sunday night’s Super Bowl was a rough one to watch for Kansas City Chiefs football fans and Swifties alike. It was no surprise when Taylor Swift showed up in New Orleans to cheer for boyfriend Travis Kelce as he and the Chiefs attempted a legendary three-peat win, but unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be. And not only did fans not make Taylor feel welcome in the stadium, but the sitting president of the United States also did his best to make sure her evening was even more difficult.

The Philadelphia Eagles scored a victory over the Chiefs on Sunday.
It was a bit of a brutal game to watch for those rooting for the Chiefs. By the time Kendrick Lamar took the stage to perform at the halftime show, the team hadn’t managed to score a single point – and meanwhile, the Eagles already had more than one touchdown under their belts.
As expected, Taylor was watching the game from a suite, taking in the game with both of their families and friends.
Taylor was booed when she was shown on the Jumbotron.
While the camera panned to different celebrities in the crowd, Taylor was shown sitting next to Ice Spice, who had come to the game with her for the second year in a row. Once people realized she was on the screen, they began booing – and then the booing only grew louder.
To her credit, she simply gave the cameras a big side-eye and continued on with her conversation, but later that night, Trump, who was also at the Super Bowl that night, didn’t hold back about the moment on social media. He hasn’t been a Taylor fan for a long time, especially after she so publicly endorsed Kamala Harris during the 2024 presidential election.

Trump made multiple posts on Truth Social about Taylor getting booed.
In the first post, he shared a video of him and daughter Ivanka in the crowd next to the video of Taylor being booed. Later, after the game was over, he took to the app again to share more of his thoughts.
His next message read, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
Needless to say, fans aren’t very impressed.
Of course, Swifties weren’t happy that Taylor was booed at all, but in general, plenty of people thought his messages were unwarranted.
“What is it with weird men like Trump, Kanye, and Elon Musk being obsessed with Taylor?” one person tweeted.
Another person wrote, “Is this how the President of the United States should act? Cheap, unclassy, and bum-like behavior. The world is laughing at us right now for having an immature little boy as the head of our nation.”
So far, Taylor hasn’t responded, but considering how busy she is, there’s no doubt she has plenty of other pressing things to think about.
